as The Noble Art.

FOR AT LEAST 2/3 YEARS BOXING ACTION HAS BEEN STATING THAT ALL IS NOT WELL IN BOXING AND IS LANGUISHING AND THERE IS A LACK VITALITY AND ENERGY IN THIS BUSINESS/SPORT. THIS VIEW IS NOW EXPRESSED BY MARTIN HEMPHIL THE FEATURED COLUMNIST ON THE RESPONSIBLE BOXREC WEBSITE. The seriousness is now in a state where it is becoming a lost cause to be able to regularly feature news of interest focused on the intrigue of The Sweet Science and not report on scandalous behaviour that bears no relation to anything sweet or scientific.. Boxing Action specialises in news that is fundamentally serious in the way it effects boxing. We do not try to compete in detailing results simply because Boxrec and Fightnews cover this section of boxing better than we are able to report it. Instead we seek important news on boxing that is missed by other boxing websites and the rest of the boxing media, and bring attention to matters that need to be disclosed and thereby allow windows on the sport to be opened on matters with corrosive elements that would otherwise remain closed. It is a very worrying sign when news on boxing is not reported on the business/sport but instead is centred upon extremely bad behaviour taking placed in boxing that seriously embarrasses boxing the sport once known as The Noble Art. The floundering of amateur boxing intention to take over professional boxing has been seriously increased because following up an astounding alleged revelation made in September of last year by BBCNewsnight that two Olympic Gold Medals were offered for sale for US9 million to Azerbaijan by International Amateur Boxing Association (AIA) subsidiary World Series Boxing (WSB,) yet despite the promise by International Olympic Committee (IOC) to set up an immediate inquiry there has been nothing but silence. It is difficult to imagine a more serious corruption charge in sport. AIBA/WSB and Azerbaijan deny the claims by the BBCNewsnight and the national broadcasters is standing by its claims. The claim by BBC Newsnight was reported eight calendar months ago, Thus by failing to publish their findings of the IOC analysis of the corruption claim by BBCNewsnight the Olympics authority is doing nothing but fuelling speculation that there is something more than just smoke to indicate fire. It took the BBCNewsnight team one year to complete their investigation and publish their alleged findings. For IOC to have to only confirm or disprove the evidence collated by what Newsnight state is a US$9 million corruption charge, to take two thirds of that time and not be in a position to judge the truth of the matter indicates there is either dilatory strategy in place or the allegations made BBCNewsnight no longer required to be qualified by the word ‘allegations. There is no question it is the gravest accusation in the history of all sports, yet the media is silent and there have been no demands for the result of the IOC investigation to be published and either kill the BBCNewsnight claims as being fictional or make untenable the position of AIBA as a self-appointed World governing body for amateur boxing. This begs the question WHY has IOC not delivered their analysis? One reason is that they will not be the final arbiter on the matter. If their decision is that the prestigious BBCNewsnight defamed AIBA/WSB and Azerbaijan then AIBA has to issue proceedings for libel in the High Court of England. This mean the evidence will be heard in an open court, maybe before jury, and before a Judge of the High Court. On the other hand if IOC decides that AIBA/WSB are guilty of corruption then that is a criminal offence and the matter has to be referred to the police. Whatever might be the given reason for the lack of information fromIOC, it has to be invalid. Corruption in amateur sport is the worst of all habitats for such criminal behaviour and is far worse than any such happening occurring in commercial business. The reason for this is because the interest by young people has as much greater concentration on sport. It is also a fact of life that youth depends heavily upon the guidance and practices give by their elders, and any allegation of corruption whether it be small in design or the worst ever in sport, will be become known to the youth generations and digested by them. Therefore the ignoring of the BBCNewsnight allegation against AIBA/WSB by the media is worse than shameful it is a dereliction of duty. If sleazy sex was involved then it is certain the tabloid newspaper in particular would not allow the matter to be dormant and hidden away. Is this an indication of the true value to society of this part of the media family? It is a good question but it is not a true indication. Nevertheless, you cannot blame people believing that the claim by the tabloids that the reason they expose the personal sexploits of celebrities because it is in the public interest and an allegation that the highest claim of corruption in the history of sport is not of public interest makes the defence that their exposures are only made in the public interest is nothing better than a bad joke but at the same time laughable. The common belief for the locked iron door on the AIBA/WSB charge by BBCNewsnight is because the matter is too close to the London 2012 Games. This allows the belief to ferment in the minds of young people and elders that commercial interests whether they be criminal or otherwise, are of greater importance than probity. Would any leader of a political party authorise this unlawful mandate to appear in his Party’s next published manifesto? If not, why has there not been action and the decision made by IOC that states either AIBA/WSSB is guilty of corruption or BBCNewsnight has defamed AIAB/Newsnight, has not been put into the public domain. ~
